AviationAfter landing, parking and securing

Free to start

Scenarios

  • Airplane single-engine land (ASEL).
  • Airplane multiengine land (AMEL).

The steps

  1. Park in an appropriate area, considering the safety of nearby people and property.
  2. Complete the appropriate checklists.
  3. Do a postflight inspection and document any discrepancies and servicing needs.
  4. Secure the airplane.

Safety rules that stop the station

  • Any action, or lack of action, that makes the examiner step in to keep the flight safe is unsatisfactory.
  • If you do not use sound aeronautical decision-making, including single-pilot resource management, the examiner marks the task as failed.

To pass

  • A safe parking spot, the checklist done, the postflight inspection written up and the airplane secured.
  • Know the airplane's shutdown, securing and postflight inspection, how to document in-flight and postflight discrepancies, and the risks of activities and distractions, airport security procedures and disembarking passengers safely on the ramp.
  • Missing the standard on this task fails the task and its area of operation.
