FirefightersForced entry: A wood door that opens in or out (house, day)
A wood door that opens in or out. The building is a house. It happens during the day. In full protective gear, with tools and an assignment, you force your way into a building: you use each tool as designed, remove the barrier and leave the opening safe and ready for entry. It is station 4-6 of Ohio's Firefighter I practical exam (NFPA 1001 4.3.4).

- Operate the hand or power tools safely.

To pass
- All 7 steps.
- Only one door or window type is tested; door simulators are accepted.
- Try before you pry: skipping it is not an automatic failure.
- Another candidate can help, but only one candidate is tested at a time.
- Safety issues named on the sheet: not checking a door for heat before forcing it, breaking a window so the falling glass can strike you, not securing an overhead door so it cannot close.
- The evaluator can stop the station at any time for an unsafe act.
