RoboticsClearing tools and materials from the cell
The servicing is done and the robot will soon get its energy back. Before any lock comes off, you inspect the cell and the area around the robot: every tool, part and material that does not belong there comes out, and the robot's components are back in place and intact. It is the first step of the release from lockout in the federal rule.
Free to startScenarios
- The servicing is finished and the robot goes back to work.
- The robot has to be energized briefly to test or position it before the servicing goes on.
The steps
- Before any lock or tag is removed, inspect the robot and the area around it.
- Remove every nonessential item: tools, spare parts and materials left in the cell.
- Check that the robot's components are operationally intact.
- Then go on in order: first check the employees in the area, then remove the locks.
Safety rules that stop the station
- The authorized employees follow the release procedure before the locks or tags come off and the energy is restored.
- To energize the robot only for a test or to position it, the cell is cleared of tools and materials first, as in the full release.
To pass
- No nonessential items were left in the cell or the area around the robot.
- The robot's components were operationally intact before the energy was restored.
- Removing some kinds of blocking may need the machine to be re-energized before it can be done safely.
