A sensor reads hot during the count
Astronaut · Who you talk to: Engineering and the launch director
A battery temperature sensor on the launch abort system reads higher than expected, as happened on the Artemis II launch day.
What this case adds
- Report it and hold your "Go" until engineering explains it.
- Learn to tell an instrumentation issue from a real hardware problem before the poll.
Critical fails
- Answering "Go" with an open problem in your system.
- Waiving a mandatory launch constraint after the terminal count has started: it cannot be waived.
- Holding more than 3 minutes between T-6 and T-1:30 and pressing on instead of recycling to T-10.
- Not knowing the abort or emergency procedure for your role.
