About the UKMLA
The Medical Licensing Assessment (MLA) of the General Medical Council is the exam every student graduating from a UK medical school must pass, from the 2024-25 academic year, before joining the medical register.
It has two parts: the Applied Knowledge Test (AKT), a written exam, and the Clinical and Professional Skills Assessment (CPSA), a performance-based exam that each medical school runs, usually as an OSCE. Both follow the GMC MLA content map.

How Making Synapses helps
- Cases tagged with the areas of clinical practice of the MLA content map
- History, examination and management on an AI patient, by voice or by typing
- A checklist scored from 0 to 100% by the Making Synapses AI Attending, like a CPSA station
- OSCE exam mode: a random patient, no hints and a time limit
