Medical Score
How Making Synapses scores every encounter, and how you rank in your continent and in the world.
Medical Score = the sum of your best Test score of each case
How a case is scored
When you close the encounter, the checklist of the case is scored from 0 to 100%. Each step has its weight; some steps can be done in any order and some accept one of several right answers. The time and the hints you used are saved with the attempt.
See the cases →Critical fails
Safety rules taken from real practical exams: a sharp that does not go straight to the container, used material left on the patient or dirty tools not thrown away mark the attempt as a critical fail, whatever the score of the checklist.
NREMT practical exam →Your Medical Score
The sum of your best score in Test mode for each case, with one decimal. Playing more cases and repeating them until you do them well is what moves it up. Teach and Train attempts are saved too, without counting for the ranking.

Questions about the score
How does Making Synapses score me?
Every case is scored from 0 to 100% the moment you close the encounter, step by step against its checklist. A critical fail marks the attempt as failed, like in a real practical exam.
What is the Medical Score?
The sum of your best Test score of each case. It ranks you in your continent and in the world, and it grows when you play more cases and do them well.
Is my score the same on PC, VR and phone?
Yes. Your score is saved with your account in the cloud, so it is the same on every platform where you sign in.
Can I hide my country?
Yes. In Settings > Avatar choose the invisible flag: your score still counts for your continent and your name shows as Anonymous.
